Tonic Studios Index Dies to create shaped card base ...

Another post sharing a card created using the Tonic Studios Index Dies, Family Sentiment dies and the Banner dies & stamp sets. I have used the 'Vines & Moments Index Card' set to create my shaped card base, utilising the decorative tab die.

Circular acetate card - using Tonic Studios Sentiment dies

The first project I am going to share is one where I have used the Craft perfect project acetate. If you haven't had the chance to use the acetate before, I can heartily recommend it as the well known phrase goes "it does what is says on the tin" - well packet in this instance 😏

Through the Letter Box from Bubblyfunk - Star adorned notebook ...

I was really chuffed to bits to be asked to join the Bubbly Funk team which means I get to play with the "Through the Letterbox" kits .... oh yes! Decembers kit, called 'seeing stars' is full of sparkle, metallic colours, glittery stars along with  a fabulous mixtures of embellishments, materials, trims and oodles more. Pop over to the shop to check out the December kit yourself ...

When I opened my box, I was first impressed with the wonderful paper bags that some of the contents are placed inside and also the beautiful metallic gold material. These two 'spoke to me' and that was the starting point for my project ...

Tonic Studios Sentiment dies - Happy Birthday Nephew ...

Strangely, I never really thought of personalisation on my cards other than occasionally using the recipients name, so when I was sent the Family Sentiment dies I was not sure where to begin. Suddenly I realised that I could still make the cards I wanted by now I could always add that little bit extra with using the Family Sentiments. It was one of the 'waking up moments' 😁...!

Below is one of my cards that I made for the launch, which also incorporates the Banner Dies ...

A little bit of Bubbly Funk ...

A little while back I was approached and asked if I would like to play with a Bubbly Funk "Through the letterbox" kit and curiosity got the better of me and I simply had to say "yes". Just like magic ... well posted through my letter box ... the new December kit sent for me to rummage through and see what inspired me.

As the kit does not go officially on sale until today (1st December), I can only share a sneak peak of my project but will be back next week with the full 'blow by blow account' ...

Spellbinders 3D shadow stamps - Dashing through the snow ...

Still in full blown Christmas mode and am starting to worry that I might, for once, be a wee bit more organised for this Christmas than first anticipated ... this does worry me a little as am now thinking about all the things I might forget ... lol However do love a 'to do' list and after recently making a notebook, think I might jot down my ideas, for that 'just in case' senior moment appears ...!

When I originally received these 3D shading stamps from Spellbinders, was a little worried that they might just be 'one trick ponies' but am glad to say that is definitely not the case. I have had great fun playing with them and they produce the most wonderful Christmas scenes ...

Stamping with gilding flakes ...

Although I have had my Tonic Monthly card kit - 2nd to be released - a wee while, I have only recently had time to play with it properly. The kits come jam packed with goodies and there is oodles of crafty products to create with ...

 Tonic Craft Kit no.2

For my first project I have made a tag card using nearly everything in the kit on my project ...

I began by creating the tag shape layering several of the embossed card that is in the kit. Next using the dies, I created a succession of layers: some to create edging strips, one as a background panel and then the final to act as a frame.

I have stamped lots of the elements, using the glue pen supplied, and once tacky, adding gilding flakes to create my outlines. I have then coloured in the holly and berry elements - again using the Nuvo Creative pens supplied and the Nuvo Berry Red crystal drops. Some of the corners have been stamped directly on to the die cut panels and others cut out to create embellishments.

Using a piece of the red embossed card, I created a buckle effect through the gold frame. Next I added a poinsettia and several of the stamped embellishment elements. As a finishing touch I added some Craft Perfect twine and then threaded some of the smaller bauble elements on to it. These are created with the embellishment dies included in the kit.

To tie all the elements together I have added some green bakers twine, more stamped and coloured corners, plus oodles of the smaller die cuts in co-ordinating colours.

I must admit that I am 'chuffed to bits' with the stamping using the gilding flakes and will definitely be using this technique again. What's your favourite stamping technique? Please share as I do love to try out new ideas,

Playing amongst the presents ...

I thought I'd share one of projects that I made for the recent Tonic Studios Festive Friend's launch on Hochanda using one of the cute cat images, placing him in one of the bauble blisters to create a shaker card.

I began by stamping the circle bauble and then cutting it our with the matching die. With the outer die only, I cut another panel on white stamping card. Carefully draw around the inner circle of your stamped bauble giving you now the correct placement for your stamping. Next stamp and colour the cat - I chose to work with my Brush Scripts. On a separate piece of card, stamp & colour the cat image which will be used to create a decoupage layer. The circle bauble was also coloured with Brush Scripts.

Before joining all the elements together, I added some sequins, placing them on top of the cat, then added the circle blister to form the shaker. Doesn't he look so cute hiding amongst the presents?

The leaves are created using the Delicate Detail Vine Flourish stamps, coloured with Brush Scripts and then cut out. They have been layered up to create the look of a full tree ... fingers crossed that they do. The lickle baubles are from the Rudolph Reindeer Buildables set and they were the 'left overs' from another project.

I do sooooo love the look of this card - which for me is nearly, not quite, verging on CAS styleeee -  that I have several others prepped ready to make. I can't decide whether these should be 'hand out' cards or I should make boxes to put them in ... decision, decisions, decisions ...

How are your Christmas preparations going? I'm starting to worry about myself as I've now got several presents, half my cards made and starting to stoke pile the 'booze'! This level of festive organisation is simply not heard of from me ... lol.

Golden glittery poinsettia ...

I'm still in full swing making my Christmas projects and also playing with the wonderful range of Polkadoodles Christmas stamps. I just couldn't resist using the Christmas Poinsettia again but this time I have gone for a gold/cream look to the flower ...

My base card is actually a sizzix die I have had for eons and I thought it be great to show off the poinsettia and also the other flourish dies - which are from Polkadoodles. I've stamped and coloured the poinsettia with Nuvo embellishment mousse in Indian Gold, layered the design three times, finishing with a decorative button.

I've added some glittery die cuts, a few metallic and then some green ones too. A random sprinkling of Nuvo Crystal Drops to bring in a little red to make the image 'pop'. The sentiment is from Polkadoodles Christmas Wreath stamp set.

The wonderful glitter card I have used is from the Craft Perfect range, (from Tonic Studios) and it cuts like a dream with no shedding of glitter what so ever. I'm not normally a glitter person per-say as the 'stuff' we use in school is so chunky and rough; it's just plain horrible. Am slowly coming around to glitter but that's because I am now using the 'picker' stuff .. lol!
